[UNITED PRESS ASSOMtTION.J Dunbdin, January 17. An examination of the memorials being ptepared for presentation to Hamel and Hodgkins by the unemployed, has led the secretary of the Trades and Labor League to the conclusion that it Is the work of one man, and the signatures to it are hot genuine. A cablegram has been received that the Rev. J. Dunlop Kbs accepted the theological chair of the Presbyterian Synod. Another attempt to raise the big dredge was only partially successtul. The unwieldy vessel was, however, shifted to a perfectly tiafe spot, and as her decks are now dry a day or two will likely see her afloat. Another eight of the fire brigade have entered for competition at the intercolonial demonstration, which takes place here next month.
