A COMPLAINT.
[to the editor.]
Sir, — Allow me through the columns of your valuable paper to show how the inhabitants of Brunnerton are treated by the present station master, Mr Knox. Yesterday morning I had business which called me to the Grey. I went to the Br miner station 7 minutes before train time, and stood talking, forgetting to get my ticket until reminded by a friend. I had no ticket, whereupon I asked Mr Knox if I could get in the train, and he answered me no, you must walk to Wallsend. I remonstrated with him, and said I would pay the extra shilling. He refused that privilege. I then started and walked to Wallsend. I should have stated that I started to walk before the train left the Brunner station, and was at the Wallsend station when the train arrived. Sir, I have frequently seen Mr Knox getting tickets for Chinamen and others who are favorites of his, and having to run many yards to give them their tickets. Hoping you will give this publicity, I remain, &c, Traveller. Brunnerton, July 23, 1885.
