July 14. This Morning’s Parliament. The Licensing Bill discussion was continued last night. Tho bottle license at £4O was reinserted by division of 42 against?. Mr Oliver moved that the wine license fee be increased from £1 to £lO. Mr Bastings opposed this license altogether. Dr. Wallis strongly supported it, and after considerable discussion the motion for increasing the fee was lost by 28 to 20. Progress was then reported, and the House rose at 2 a.m. The Libel Case. At the Supreme Court, the libel case, Griffiths v Johnson, which commenced yesterday, io still p-ooeeding, and will probably conclude this afternoon. Coursing. SHEFFIELD: July 15. Coursing was resumed this morning, with the following results-Canterbury CupThird ties : Soafiold beat Champagne Charlie ; Miss Lucy beat Hinemoa. The owner of Seafiold and Miss Lucy divided tho stake Canterbury Purse—Second tic : Glenlorabeat Heroine. Third ties : Bonnie Scotland beat Balmoral. The owners of Bonnie Scotland and Glenlora divided.
