Committee Meetings, —The Finance and Works Committees met this morning. The business done was purely of a routine character, and several accounts were passed for payment. Lyttelton P. L,,8., and I. Society.— The usual monthly meeting of the Lyttelton Permanent Land, Building, and Investment Society takes place to-night at the Colonists’ Hall. Inspection Parade, —The Christchurch Engineer Volunteers will parade for the ordinary monthly inspection at the drill-shed to-morrow evening at 7.30. Tna Hospital Concert.—A great deal of energy has been displayed by Mr Chilton in organising the concert which is shortly to take place for raising a special fund for the Hospital. Miss Amy Sherwin, the Tasmanian prima donna, has in the kindest manner consented to sing two songs, which fact alone ought to secure a full house, if the latter were not already certain. The programme has been most judiciously selected, for, with the exception of one or two standard compositions which always attract, nearly every item is new, or at least very rarely heard. In addition to Miss Sherwin, Signora Venosta, Miss Lavinia Taylor, and Messrs H. F. Towle, Simms, and R. Foster will appear. The Christchurch Glee Club will sing some excellent glees and part songs, them being “ The Young Musicians,” by Ivucken ; the “ Three Chafers,” by H. Teiihn ; and “ Tell me on what holy ground,” by Files, Signora Venosta will contribute the always welcome “ II Segreto,” from Lucrezia Borgia, and Miss L. Taylor a fantasia on the English concertina from Schira’s opera, “ Niccolo de Sapi,” and, in conjunction with Mr Simms, a bouquet of Welsh airs by Blagrove. Signora Venosta and Mr Towle will give the grand duet from “II Trovatore,” and Mr R. Foster “The Yeoman’s Wedding,” by Prince Poniatowski, and “When the quiet moon is beaming,” by Johannes Scherndorf. Lastly, Mr Simms will sing Henry Litolff’s “ Spinlied.” Apart from the object for which the concert is given, such a programme should test the holding capacity of the Theatre Royal to its fullest extent.

Kaiapoi Domain Board.— The monthly and annual meeting of this Board were to have been held at 3 p.m. on Monday, but were adjourned for want of a quorum.
