The members stood in silence as a mark of respect to tihcl late Airs. Bibb.v, of AVaipawa, Airs. A. Hicks, of Te Araroa, and Mrs. A. Boyd, of Gisborne, who have passed away since the last mooting. An enjoyable item, of the social afternoon was “The Bishop’s Candlesticks,-” the title of a one-act play read read bv Afrs. Black. A vocal item by Airs. Fairlie and accompanied by Airs. Clark, was nii'other feature of the pro gramme. The members then joined in community singing, which caused quite a lot of fun. A very nice afternoon tea was served, the hostesses being Afesdames Black, Sherhoiirne and Clark.
