A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

MONTHLY MEETING Oh 1 COMMITTEE. The general committee of the Poverty Bay A. and P. Association was held on Saturday. 'The president, Mr. J O. Graham was in the chair, an.l there was an attendance of about 2 j members. The Poverty Bay Jersey Cattle Club wrote suggesting that junior yearling heifers should not bo eligible to compete in the yearling heifer classes, and that the first prizewinners in the junior yearling classes should bo brought together and judged for the Common Shelton Cup and champion yca'rling Jersey heifer. The suggestion was approved. • The Cook County Council in reply to a, letter regarding the eradication of ragwort, wrote stating that the employees of the council had always been instructed to removo all noxious weeds from the council’s reserves. The matter of such weeds on roads is the responsibility of the owners or occupiers of property on either.side to the centre of the road.—After a. brief discussion tlio letter was received. Tho Poverty Bay Kennel Club wrote making suggestions for the next show and asking if the association would renew its cup for the best dog in the show, as this trophy.had been won outright.—lt was decided to donate another cup on Hie same conditions as pertained in the previous one. Mr. .0. G. Calvert, lion, secretary of the Tolaga Bay Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Club, wrote suggesting that all club calves be marked with a standard marker as a means of identification in the yearling class held by the A. and P. Society. It was felt that if this were clone there would be no possibility of calves being changed by competitors between the time they are shown by calves and when they wero sent back to the show ns yearlings. After discussion it was decided that the suggestion could not be agreed to, as it would jirove too expensive.
