MOTOR BY-LAWS
OFFENDERS BEFORE COURT. UNREGISTERED DRIVERS. Another batch of motorists who had been stopped by the police and could not produce driver’s or rider’s licenses for this year, came before the Magistrate, Mr. E. .L. "Walton, S.M., n the. Magistrate’s Court yesterday. For driving vehicles while not being the holder of a driver’s license fines were inflicted as follows: Rolda Willia.m Vette, Stanley Reeves,. Eric Noel Gully, Charles Tamlin, each os and costs; Albert Alfred Bartrom, charged with employing an unregistered driver. William McMurray, was fined 10s and costs. William McMurray who drove a motor vehicle while not being the holder of a driver’s license was fined 5- and costa 10s. On a charge of speeding over the intersection of Fitherbert street and Onnond read/ George Noel Lockett was fined £1 and costs 10s. NO NUMBERS ON MOTOR CYCLE. Tahae Taka a was charged with using a motor-cycle in a public place, such machine having no assignment number and distinguishing mark. Defendant was also charged with having no rider’s license. Mr. W. Kolm said defendant had purchased the motor -cycle in April. He lived in the country and when stopped by the constable was on his way into town to procure a license. Defendant was fined os and costs 15s fo r .not. -being in possession of a rider’s license and £1 and costs Ids for not having the registration marks. FAILURE TO NOTIFY SALE. Allan Douglas Sandlant was c-ha-rs-e : that after selling a registered motor cycle to Tahae Tnkao he failed to notify the registrar of the fact of such sale. Mr. W.' Kohn said that when the motor cycle was. sold to Takao it was presumed the latter knew that- the details should ho sent to the registrar. In the following month the usual check-up was being made in defendant’s office and it was then ascertained that no return had been put, in. Defendant at once got into touch with Takao, who completed all formalities. Defendant was fined £1 and costs IDs. "
