When the Bowatcr-Llovd fusion :s completed by the acquisition of 830.890 ordinary £1 .shares of the Edward Lloyd Investment Company from Allied Newspapers, Bowa tor's will control a combined annual output of 500 000 tons of ru-v. sprint, or over GO per cent of tht total manufactured in Britain. Bowater’s, in order io provide part of the funds required. w’ll create 300.000 Cl per cent cumulative preference share-?, 700,000 71 par cent cumulative participating preference shares ,and 300,000 ordinary shares of £1 apiece. The 71 per cents wfil be off red to the public, and the balance required will be provided by Bowater’s cash resources and the issue by Lloyd’s of 2.C00.000 3 per cent preference shares cat £1 each.
