3-HOUR SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON TO AUCKLAND

A three-hour connection between Wellington and Auckland, with stops at Palmeerston North and New Plymouth, is proposed under the timetable drafted by Union Airways Ltd. for the license from the Minister of 'Transport. Though the make of machine is not yet announced, it is proable that the company will employ twin-engined aeroplanes of modern design and equipped with blind-flying instruments, radio equipment, and all other up-to-date aids to safe flying. Each machine" will carry two pilots and havo accommodation for from six to eight passengers. The company has made a formal application for the license, and any representations concerning the application have to bo made to the Commissioner of Transport in writing, not later than July 7, for submission to the Minister. 'To be taken into consideration with the application, the proposed time tables are: South-ward—-leave Auckland noon; New Plymouth, 1.14 p.m.; Palmerston N., 2.22 p.m. ; arrive Wellington, 3 p.m. Northward: Leave Wellington, noon: arrive-Palmerston North, 12.38 p.m ; New Plymouth, 1.46 p.m.; arrive Auckland. 3 p.m. Ten-minute' stops would' be provided at Palmerston N. and New Plymouth. The suggested fares are: Wellington to Palmerston North, £1 15s; Palmerston North to New Plymouth, £2; New Plymouth t-.i Auckland, £3.
