Nearly three thousand Utters from all over Australia poured into the office of the Union Steam Ship Company for the Monowai’s Tin Can mail to the island of Niuafu-, in the Tonga n group, where there are three white men. namely) a, priest, a storekeeper and a planter. -Packed in watertight tins tin letters will be dropped overboard from the Mo.no.wai, which visited the island a year ago on a .similar mission. A native canoe will pick them up. ; "Enthusiastic philatelists enclosed as much as 30 j- with the letters to obtain a good selection of Tongaa stamps marked-'“Tin-Can -Mail.”
