FRENCff CHAMPIONSHIP'. COTTON BREAKS COURSE RECORD. (U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright). PARIS, June 30. Cotton, in crashing form in the French open golf championship at St. Germain, broke the course record with a score of G 5. Ho had bad luck at the twelfth, missing a four. It was the only hole where ho exceedede four. D’Allcmaiige, the holder of the unofficial record, G 7, started badly and took 73. In his second round Cotton returned a card of G 9, this with his first round of 05 giving him an aggregate ot 134. He appears certain to win the title unless he breaks down completely. Other scores arc: D u llennigne. (>S, 73—141; Vandonek (Belgium), 72. 70' —142; Cogin (U.S.A.), 72, 73—145; Deforest (Scotland), 73, 73,—14G: Boomer, 75, 71—146; Turner (United' States), 71, 75—146. Cotton’s aggregate is 12 below liar for the course ol 5800yds. A further 36 holes will be played on Wednesday.
