BASKETBALL AND CROQUET
CANDIDATE
A large attendance of supporters of No. 2 candidate in the most popular sport contest, Mrs. J. R. Murphy, ni£t at the committee rooms last night, and decided upon a number ol functions to further tho candidates’ interest..' Arrangements .were made for both groups to conduct community and individual efforts of Un interesting and novel nature. The piecart. at the Hard-up ball in the City Hall on June 27 Avill be conducted by the lady members of the Croquet Club, and the tea and coffee stall Avill b. in the bunds of the basketball group. A ( number of the details in connection with tiie King’s Birthday events wore also settled. Mr'. C. Greig was appointed secretary-treasurer for the combined organisations, Avhicli are determined to ensure the election o* their candidates as the most ‘(popular sport’’ The executive intends tjO hold liard-ub danco in the City Hall on’ June 27. The music Avill be supplied by Miv Stewart Skeet’s orchestra. ,
