Miss Helen Packman has been Eileen on the probationary staff of Cook Hospital.
At ft meeting of the Cook Hospital Board ysstelday it was decided that a letter be senfc: to Dd J. C. Collins, expressing sympathy with him in his illness. Dr. Collins has been at Rotorua for some time.

According to a Montreal P.-A. cable, the death has occurred of Harry Whitn.-y, the American sportsman and big game hunter.
An Apia P.A. cable records the death of Mr. W. J. Swann, chemist, one of tho oldest res.dents ot Apia, aged 7S.years.
During last month Nurse Runtime resigned Horn Cook Hospital staff, owing to he'alth reasons, and Nurse M. Reid also tendered her resignation, • stated the report of the lady superintendent, presented to (ho board yesterday. Staff-Nurse Turnbull is lea’ving as «hc is entering St. Helen’s Hospital, Auckland, for midwifery training.
