In a small village in the heart ol the Carpathian Mountain-;, Anna R.-t----gen. a young Roumanian woman, known to the world a- tin* “woman iti red.” who betrayed her lover, Joint Dillinger, once America's public enemy No. 1, is living in consiant fear of death. To a correspondent of the Paris “Soil ” who di-covered her refuge, she appeared to he a nervous wreck.

From that day Dillinger became the worst enemy oi' the police* and waged a war of hatred against them." When asked why -he betrayed Dillinger. since she ptofessed to love him. Anna Sagen is reported to have replied: “It is he who betrayed me. When he last- left prison he had a small fortune with which he was negotiating for a- small farm so that he could retire and live tin honest life. But he did not want- me there. .He loved another woman.”
“1 longed for revenge.” site continued. “At last my chance came. It was arranged that I should meet Dtllitiger in a cinema. I put on my red frock as I knew he liked it best, and he fell for it, I have no remorse. After his death I received a reward of
