GIRL guide COMMISSIONERS. DISSENSION IN RANKS. SEQUEL TO APPOINTMENT. (Press Association,). / WELLINGTON, July 19 Six of eight eommi'asioners of the Gi'i'J Guide movement in the Auckland district have sent fn. their resignations together with their warrants to the Provincial Commissioner following alleged diisson-don among their ranksOfficials of the movement are reticent, but it is learned that the resignations are the result of one highlyplaced officer over-ruling a decision of another of lesi-fer rank. Misq Beryl Knight, one of the divisional commissioners, appointed a girl to the command of a company. There had been two candidates for the position, but when A wa;; appointed, R made representation,- to the Provincial Commissioner, Mrs R. J. Coates. It is understood that following this action A way disrated and that B was then given the rank of captain in charge of the company. Her decision challenged by the Provincial Commissioner, and her captain disrated, Miss Knight apparently believed that the only course open to her war. to resign her command. Tin’,-i she did and forwarded her resignation to- the Provincial Commissioner, Mrs Coates. Five other oommissioneiC, the Misses Hayward, Matthewo, Teape, and MoCom'i (Papatoetoo) and Johnston (Northeote), contending that a principle was at stake, tendered their resignations when they learned the position. -VII six resignations are now in the hands of the Provincial Commissoner who, so far, has not forwarded them to- the Chief Commissioner for New Zealand, Miss Herrick, at Domin'on headquarters in Ha",ting's.
