FLOATS TO EARTH

DEAD AIRMAN WITH A PARACHUTE. (U.l’.A. hv Elec. Td V-m-vright) (Received May 2, 10.20 p.m.) LONDON. May 2. The Daily Mail’s Paris correspondent says that the dead body of a French airman floated gently to earth with a parachute after an aeroplane in which he had been flying over Cliaeauroux at a height of 3500 feet had been cut in two in a collision with another machine. He was killed as the machines met. A companion leapt out unhurt, but was killed when he crashed to the ground owing to the parachute not opening. The occupant of the other machine, flying solo, was thrown out of the cockpit and parachuted safely to the ground.
