FELL FROM TANKSTAND. NURSING HOME PATIENT’S END. 4 sstui&*Ur«aCHRISTCHURCH, April 23. An inquest was opened to-day, and adjourned, concerning the death of Archibald Mould, 24, a single man, tho son of a farmer at Little River. Mould was found dead last evening with a fractured skull in the. yard of a nursing-home in Riccarton, where he had been a patient. Evidently lie had fallen from a tank stand. A doctor ga\ r e evidence that Mould had previously been in a confused and nervous condition, though yesterday morning he appeared to be contented. He had exhibited no suicidal ten dencies. CYCLE SKIDS OVER BANK TWO MEN IN HOSPITAL (Press Association). BLENHEIM, April 23. Daniel 'Linton arid Victor Hart, both aged about- 22 years, residingat Deep Creek, crashed over a bank n‘?ar Blackball when a motor cycle which both were riding skidded. Both are in Wairau Hospital. Accidents involving rather serious injuries, but no deaths, occurred this morning in the district. • The first happened about- 2 p.m., when a light truck -driven by William Drmnmondi of Ormondville, with two passengers, collided with a motor cycle driven by a man named McKenzie, of Napier, half a. mile on the Hastings side of Pakipaki. Tho lorry capsized, but none of the occupants were hurt. McKenzie suffered severe injuries. The second accident occurred at an intersection in Hastings! Kevin O’Halloran, -of Napier, was driving to Palmerston North when his car skidded, striking a telegraph pole at a corner and rebounding on to another car 'driven by Mr N. J. Edwards, of Hastings. Mr O’Halloran was thrown out of the car, but liis leg was pinned, and difficulty was experienced in freeing him. Hi.s leg ni> extensively; injured and he sustained concussion. The car was wrecked. A third smash occurred at 11 o’clock this morning at the intersetion of Railway and Maraeknkaho roads, two miles from Hastings. A lorry driven by Mr Len Landall, loaded with cased apples, collided with, a light car driven by Mr Reg. Ferris, of Stratford, containing a.s passengers Messrs S. Sutton and W. Clark, also of Stratford, all of whom were here for the bowling tourna'ment. Mr Perris 'tsu stained extensive head injuries and others suffered shock and abrasionsWho pays the bill for the injured ?
