POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION INDIAN TOUR PLAYERS. Th© weekly meeting of the Poverty Bay Hockey Association committee wag hold last evening in Le Grand Lounge. Mj’ P. Sim presided over the following: Messrs A. Cassin, G. Honde'rsou), W. Bullivant, i,J. Turbitt. G. Graham. B. Crosby. G. Quinn R. Keiha. W. Tnmahnna G. File, J. Baker, 0. G’reig and C. Berkihshaw. Mr Sim was once again elected as chairman, for* the .ensuing year. Air Sim recalled that ho had been the chairman for the past six years for the P.B Hockey Association He also said that he had- been in hockey at Gisborne for the last 30 years. Mu- J. Henderson was elected a life member of the Association, Mr Henderson, thanking ' the- members-, stated! that he had been connected with hockey for the last 23 years arid still hoped to be, able to spend; a little time with tffe Association. A letter Was received from the. Poverty Bay Rugby Union asking for the vise of the grounds to train on during the evenings. An application was received from Mr Lowe of the Le Grande regarding running a small stall on the grounds for selling confectionery and soft drinkg during the season, also when the Indian tourists fir,, hero —This was granted. The following delegate s were nominated from the different clubs:— Takitimu. Men’s (B) : Mr Alahunga Pore. Takitimu Ladies: All- J. Baker. Tokitimu Alen’s (A): Air M. Pere. Foresters Aten's: Mr G. Graham. Y.M.C.A Alen’s : Mr B. Crosby. Scottish, Alen’s: Mr J. Turbitt. Kia. Toft Ladies’ : Air G. Corbett. Referees’ Association : Mr G. Henderson. The opening of tli© men’s competition was fixed for Thursday, Afny 2, and tbe ladies for AT ay 4. The nominations must lie in from all clubs by April 29. Advice was received that the two young ladies Alias .T. Allen and Ali’ss Tami Halo, who av 0 to play in the trial match at. Auckland, will have to be in the northern centre before May 24. Mr P. Rup Singh is also a member of this party and at the last Olympic Games in Los Angeles they proved them selves a wonderful combination.
