BLASPHEMOUS!
SYMBOLIC PLAY IN BERLIN. HITLER AS REDEEMER. (U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright.) (Received April 23, 8.50 p.m.) LONDON, April 23. The Daily Telegraph’s Berlin correspondent says that the Theatre of the People on Good Friday gave a special performance of “The Passion of the German People,” in which Germany is symbolically depicted as undergoing a form of Calvary until redeemed by President Hitler. Religious circles regard the performance us blasphemous, particularly after General Ludendorf’s assertion that he is finished with Christianity.
