TE KARAKA SPORTS
TO-DAY'S BIG FIXTURE. ATTRACTIONS FOR ALT.. Given favorable. weather there should be an exceptionally large attendance at Te Karaka tocl.iv when the 16th annual sporty of the Wnittohii Returned Soldiers’ Sports Club, will be held. An excellent programme has been arranged and the entries tiro also splendid, especially since .6126 in prizes and trophies hag been allotted' to the fixture. 'The first event, is timed to start a; 10.30 a.m and .a special train leaves Kaiti wharf Cor the grounds at. 9 a.m.. while bust's. of course, will be running regularly. Included in the programme are 11 fia, and field events, also fin© cycle handicaps, for amateurs, six fiat and throe cycle events for professionals; Leu horse events; three: chops; throe amateur wrestling matches : and a number of miscellaneous contents. Luncheon and refreshments. hotwater and milk will he available on t.he grounds. Special seating accommodation has been arranged and space for a. number of side-shows has been booked up. To round off tlie day, a. grand sports dune© will bo held tonight. Miss. Hutu's orchestra .will supply the music.
