Pyjama Girl Murder
NEW ZEALANDER’S ALLEGED CONFESSION! held as vagrant in ADELAIDE (U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright.) (Received April 22, 1 a.m.) ADELAIDE, April 21. When Robert Henderson Rae appeared at the Adelaide Court on Saturday charged with vagrancy, the Police Prosecutor informed the court ■’-hat Rae claimed to be the murderer of the girl whose body was found in a culvert at Alhury last September, since when the police, had been unable to unravel tho crime. Rae, who had declared that he came from New Zealand, went into an Adelaide newspaper office last Thumday, nn>] said that lie had brought the girl from New Zealand, whereafter they had lived . as man and wife. Jn a fit of rage he strangled her and then clispo-Sdd of the body. Rae, when interviewed by the police, .would neither admit no r deny the foregoing statement. Ho was unable to recollect going into, the newspaper office. He was remanded until Afny 4.
