Merton Hodge's successful comedy. ‘•The Wind and the Rain’’ was transferred last month to the Queen’s Theatre (London) from th e St. Martin’s where it has played for over 570 performances. The east, with one or two minor exceptions, remains Lie same.
Mr O. C- Boland, who has occupied the position of architect to tlie H.B Education Board fer the last- 25 years, has tendered his resignation. Chairman Air G. A. Maddison, said that Mr Boland had given faithful service to educational work in Hawke’s Bay. He had acquired a very intimate knowledge of every school throughout, the district. His departure would be regretted- not only by tlie Board but also by school committees and teachers. Air Maddison expressed the hope that the rest from his official dutio s would give Mr Boland a full opportunity for a complete restoration to good health. Mr L. B. Fleming wa R subsequently appointed to the position of architect.
