BOARD’S MONTHLY MEETING. Meeting for the last time before the elections, . the Cook Hospital Board on Thursday was presided over by Mr. M. T. Trafford and also present were the following: Mrs. A. E. Beer, Messrs. D W. Coleman, M.P., G. B. Oman, C. G. Bayliss, C. Blackburn, J. Tombleson, H. Adair, F. C. Leggett, H. J. F. Tombleson. Accounts totalling £6910 17s Id (current £4527 5s 4d, earthquake repairs £25 and maternity home £2358 11s 9d) were passed for payment. In regard to Memorial Home fees, it was decided, on the recommendation of the finance committee, to write off £1758 as, uncollectable. The Nurses and Midwives Registration Board wrote expressing thanks for the board's action in providing a leetureroom for nurses and a preliminary training school. The Waiapu. Hospital Board advised acceptance of the board’s offer to carry out laboratory work at a flat rate of £SO per annum. The Director-General of Health intimated that consideration was being given to the establishment of a chain of T.B; clinics throughout the North Island. In this connection a visiting party would wait on tho board to discuss the proposal—lt was decided to meet the visitors, as requested. Sister Pritchard, district nurse, Matawai, reported having treated and advised 32 cases and paid 28 visits during the month. She conveyed one patient to Cook Hospital by car a fid visited five schools, giving 116 children their routine examination. , "Sister ' Burgess, Native district nurse, Te Karaka, reported having treated and advised 41 Europeans and 99 Maoris during the month. She visited four Maori pas and eleven schools, and gave lecTtuyes to the To dCaraka Bankers on child nursipg. The reports were adopted.
