(U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright.) (Received April 19, 6.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 19.
A feature of the Royal Show yesterday was the wonderful achievement of a New Zealander, Miss Vera
McMillan, in winning the water jump, as this was the first time in the history of the Show that a woman lias won an event of this nature. It is recalled that Miss McMillan was seriously injured in the 1925 Show when she crashed at one of the hurdles, fractured her spine and lay prostrate in hospital for nearly a year.
Miss McMillan rode her own gelding Flying -Scout and registered a jump of 28 feet 9 inches.
At the sale of Clydesdale stallions yesterday, Air. J. M. Smith, North Otago, New Zealand, obtained 95 guineas for“ Smithfield Slump 1- and also obtained at the sale of Clydesdale mares 340 guineas for Lady’s Hope and 120 ginueas for Springbank Ella Craig. Air. W. C. Spray (Tim aru) obtained 125 ginueas for the stallion Hillfield Baron.
