Tho long-awaited musical film, ‘'On,; Night of Love” starring the famous Grace Moore, brilliant Metropolitan Grand Opera prima donna, will open its Gisbornci season at 10,20 o’clock this evening. Thereafter it. will he shown on Easter Saturday Easter Monday, Tuesday, 'Wednesday and Friday, four sessions each day—lo.Bo a.m. 12 noon. 2 p.m., 5 p.m. an f -i 8 p'.m. with additional matinee s at 10.30 p.m on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday B -ntifnl music) and delightful humor are deftly blended in "One Night of Love”. With its glorious singing, it 8 charming story and the finished acting of all its principals the film is one of the most entertaining seen, on the screen. Grace Moore revcalg. a personality which would! iwin her an important place even without her voice, but the combination of beauty and charm with, thrilling grace places ber in, a preeminent position Although it js the music which makes tho picture outstanding, there is no suggestion that the story exists merely to introduce the many operatic excerpts which are sung. Actually the romance of a young singer with her imperious! v rutoc develops on thoroughly entertaining lines. This is partly due to the amusing portrayal of Tullio Carminati, whose characterisation is almost perfect. Other prominent roles are in the competent bands of Mona, liarrie and Lyle Talbot. When Harry Cohen, producer of ’ ‘L.ad'y For a Day” and “It Happened One Night”, made "One of Love” congratulations poured in upon him, Mary Pickford declaring it "utterly charming,” and Herbert Marshall sending a characteristic note reading; "Dear Henry, please allow me to tell you how perfect in all respects I consider your latest picture "One. Night of Love” Grace. Moore and a superb cost do lovely work.”' Maurice Chevalier said "Graee Moore mngnifkjUe,” and Norm a Shearer sent a personal note to the star. Gloria Swanson described the picture as enchanting and exciting. Practically all these eulogies came from artists employed in other studios, and so wero the more impressive.
