The two-year-old filly Chalice, having her first, race, showed some pace in the Korn Juvenile Handicap at New Plymouth. Chalice carries the same colours as Diatomous, and is by Chief Ruler from King Cup, an English-bred mare imported from Australia to the Westmerc Stud. King Cnp had produce' in Australia, but Chalice is her first foal in New Zealand.
