MEAT “BATTLE”
LONDON DISCUSSIONS. WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT JUBILEE LITTLE POSSIBILITY OF AGREEMENT AT PRESENT (U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright.) LONDON, April 16. It is now certain that the meat discussions will proceed throughout tlie .Jubilee, when General Ilertzog Air. J. G. Coates and the Southern Rhodesian representative will participate. It iwas proposed yesterday’s dis missions to adjourn pending the. arrival of the other Dominion delegates, but the •Australians! felt that a continuation would allow a clearing’'- lof the 'jjnir. jGon'siJquently,; a further meeting will be held tomorrow. Indications still suggest that there is little possibility of far reaching agreements, either in connection with the period or termination of the Argentine agreement, o'r for longterm a&rcemenfis afterwards. The difficulties are duo to conflicting policies. They may eventually be’ overcome, but the real obstacle is. inability- to '.consume tjßp. Commonwealth's potential output particularly, of mutton .and lamb.
