CARD PARTY. (Special tp ,flie iTimes). : iv-' The .funds of ,the Waima Footbqll Club benefited oonsiderahly a-s tlie-rc-sult of a very successful flag 500 tourney on Friday evening. Six tables were requisitioned and tlio successful competitors were Mrs. B, Kopua, Mr. D. Kopua, Miss, Amelia Pah an and-Mr: N. Gibson. 'A ta-sty supper was served. .The thanks of the committee are duo to Messrs. J. Corbett, I. Lowe, F. Mount, and J'. Cbnolo who kindly donated the prizes for the evening. . SURPRISE PARTY. A very-jolly surprise party organised by Miss J. Kirkham took place at '‘Kai Hinu,*’ the home of Mr and Mrs S. F. Burdett. The time was passed most pleasantly by community singing and the . playing of parlor games. Mrs K. Beale pleased all by singing several Maori songs with actions, as well as obliging at the piano. Miss M. Beale, at the piano, and Mr. Pyne, saxophone, played for tho community singing, which all enjoyed -so much. Mr. TJlick Williams, with bis many humorous sketches, caused much laughter. A delectable savoury supper was served informally. Those present included: Mr and Mrs S. F. Burdett, Mr and Mrs A. J. H. Kirkham,-Mr and Mrs Pyne l Mr and Mrs T. Smith. Alisses J. Kirkham, K. and All Beale, E. Oates, J. Burrell, Barber, B. Standish, Messrs. D, Kirkliam, D. Sheriff, J. Smith, A. Williams, Flowers, W. L: Horton, 11. Williams, G. Duff, R. Featonby, R. Cooper, .T>. B. Howarth and Dr. Bridgeman.
