One of this season’s- surprises* -of the screen "Ladies Should Listen’ opens tomorrow, in which Carv Grant reveals a new facet of his versatility. This bubbling, Continental comedy gives Cary Grant a- chance to display his abilities to- the fui.lost extent as a competent farceur. The story is one of complicated situations in Which a young Parisian man about town finds himself with an -option on a nitrate concession on liis hands plus one of hia many sweethearts whq, with her husband, is trying to rot) him of the concession. The second feature is “Smoky” in. which Victor Jory. who haa the leading role, portrays the part of a cowhand, (who tames and befriends "Smoky”, the wild horse. The friendship of man and aroma’ becomes .so great -that when “Smoky” is stolen, his friend gives up love and job to g° in search of him. The life of "Smoky” his rise, and fall, forms the basis °t‘ the production. The final reunion of man and! beast is -said to- provide a stirring climax. It is reported that the Pox studios have done more than justice to Will James’s hook and that a,’l tho panoramic beautv of the West-, including the vigo r and thrills of the rodeos, is said to be transported! to tho screen 1 with astonishing realism. There will also he a further instalment of tho serial “Pirate Treasure.,”
