JEAN BATTEN NEARING DARAVIN THRILL WITH HAWK (U.P.A. by Elec. Te 1 .. Copswight.) BRISBANE, April 11. Aliss Jean Batten arrived at Camooweal and stayed the night there. She hopes .to reach Darwin today. Between Winton and Olencurry, she encountered a thick du/st haze, and while descending to make a landing n. hawk flew directly at 'the machine. Miss Batten swerved, and the hawk passed between the wings without causing any damage.
