WINTER SHOW
AfEETING OF COAIAIITTEE. Further arrangements in connection with the forthcoming fixture of the Poverty Bay Winter Show were made at a meeting or the c-ommirree when Air. T. G. Johns presided ovc-r the following: the Rev. W. S. C. Stephens, Messrs. J. Eivers, F. Collin, ,W. P. Walker, S. Fardoe, B. C. Jeffreys, H. J. Rougher, E. W Armstrong, J. B. Greig, R. AlcCalloUgh. W. Blathwavt, and the secretary, Mr J. Ar. Kay." The secretary reported that all the ladies approached in connection with the formation of a ladies' committee were prepared to act, with two exceptions, and he was instructed to convene a meeting of ladies at an early date. An application was received from the Poverty Bay Poultry. Pigeon and Cage Bird Association for space for an exhibit at the Show. The secretary was instructed to allocate space when the plan was finally prepared. Air. Armstrong reported that as aresult of negotiations with the Poverty- Bay Kennel Club and the Poverty Bay Canary and Cage Bird Association, it had been finally arranged for the canary and cage bird section to be staged on the Wednesday and Thursday-, and for the dog section and cat section to be decided on the Saturday of Show week. Various inquiries were received relative to side-show space, the secretary- reporting that the necessary information had been supplied.—The secretary was instructed to apply to the Gisborne Borough Council for tho use of that portion of the council reserve adjoining the new Plunker building in Palmerston road, opposite Alessrs. Common, “'Shelton and Company’s wool store. A sub-committee comprising Alessrs Blathwayt, convenor, Armstrong, Walker and the secretary, were appointed to fully investigate matters of' suitable lighting and plumbing at the show, and to frame the necessary specifications required for calling ten-, ders. •The entertainment sub-committee was instructed to submit a tentative programme of musical and dancing items to be staged at the Show.
