ALLEGED MURDER El ESCAPES FROM GAOL. RECAPTURED EIGHT MILES AWAY. 1 Press Aflalioir NAPIER., April 9. There was a police guard on all roads leading from Napier to-day in an effort to re-arrest Charles William Price, who escaped at- 10.40 a.m. from the Napier gaol, where he was awaiting trial on a charge of murdering Evelyn Mary Madden ,at Argyll East, early last February. Price was to have appeared before the court on Thursday, but during the temporary absence of a warder he mounted the roof of the prison and jumped to the roadway. Price was later recaptured in the hills eight miles west of Napier.
