MASSAGING THE ANGLES
TO CURE RHEUMATISM. Harley Street specialists are investigating the sensational claim oi Dr M. AV. Locke, a graduate of Edinburgh University ,that practically all forms of rheumatism can be cured by massaging the patient’s ankles. Dr Locke is a country doctor practising in the little Canadian village of Williamsburgh, 60 miles from Ottawa. Thousands of patients from the United States and Canada visit his clinic every week. The essence of the treatment is the manipulation of the small bones that form the arches of the ieet. Sallen or improperly placed arches according to Dr Locke, cause undue pressure on an important nerve which ends in the foot. This interferes with blood circulation, until the result that the muscles, tendons, and joints become loaded with the poisons that ca use rl tell mu tism.
