OPENING MATCHES
REFEREES FOR SATURDAY
The following referees have been appointed for Saturday’s matches:—• Seniors: Old Boys v. Celtic, Mr N. Gilchrist; reserve, Mr N. Tasker. Third Grade: Old Boys v. Alarist and The Rest, Mr A. Ingram ; reserve, Mr A.. Worthington.
NOTES AND NEWS. At a meeting of the South Canterbury Rugby Union last night, it was decided to nominate Air. S. S. Dean (AVellington) and Mr. A. E. MoPliail (Canterbury) as the delegates to the Imperial Conference to be field in London in December. It was agreed to support the Canterbury Rugby Union’s remit that the All Blacks selection committee be increased from four to six—one from the North Island and one from the South Island. In response to a- letter from the Dubbo Rugby Union (N.S.W.) it was agreed to forward a copy of the union’s rules governing soven-a-side tournaments.
