Believing that pakapoo was being played in a group of five houses on the corner of Vivian and Taranaki streets, Wellington, on Thursday afternoon, a party of police made a simultaneous raid on all five. The Christchurch Unemployment Committee intends to make a serious effort to train boys for work on farms and for this purpose has leased an area of 30 acres on the outskirts of the city, at which boys will receive training in such operations as milking and the use of the simpler farm implements. Farmers asking for a boy often stipulate that he must have had some country experience, or that he'must be able to milk.
