Mr. Andrew Gibson, a Liverpool shipowner, left £699,913, including approximately £IOO,OOO to his cousin, Mr. John Anderson, Christchurch.

CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 16.
When the cable message was referred to Mr. John Anderson tonight, he said that, by the last English mail, he had received a letter from his cousin’s lawyers informing him that he was beneficiary under his cousin's will and that ho would share in the residue of the estate. The letter from the lawyers stated also that Mr. Anderson’s shtvro on the realisation, would amount to a sum considerably less than that mentioned in the cable news. Mr. Anderson who is 83 rears old. is one -of the survivors of the band of Canterbury pilgrims who arrived by the first four ships He arrived by the ship George Seymour with his parents in 1850. For man.Y years, lie was head of the well-known engineering firm of Andersons, Ltd., which his father developed.
