BODY OF FARMER’S WIFE FOUND IN POND
HUSBAND MISSING

AUCKLAND, Oct. 16
Tile body of Mrs Lakey, wife of Samuel Lakey, a. farmer, of Rotowaro, near Huntly, was found in a pond this morning. It had been covered’ with briar, which partly hid it.
Neighbours noticed that the cows had not been milked and found both Lakey and his wife missing.. Their beds had not been slept in, and! a shotgun kept in. t-lie house was not there.
A party of Auckland detectives has gone to join in the search.
