WAIKATO MARKETS HAMILTON, Oct. 14 A further decline in hcef has been registered during the week, and this class of cattle is now selling at a lower figure than is usual at this time of the year. There does not appear to be much prospect of an improvement in, the price l until the exporters start operations, and with the low prices ruling on the Home market it is questionable whether very much beef will he exported at all this year.

Naturally the decline in beef will have an effect on the store . cattle section, hut to what extent it is difficult to say, as at this period of the year there is usually an abundance of feed', and farmers will pay almost as much for store* cattle to keep the growth of grass in check as what they are. getting for their beef. Large yardings of store cattle have been listed for the . coining week, and it will he interesting to see what the public valuation will be In the dairy .section, a fair amount of business is being doiie, but pricey., are. .everywhere showing an easing tendency. The usual spring advance has this year been very subdued. This, no doubt, can he accounted! for by the . dry weather which has been experienced. , Fat sheep are keeping up remarkably well and there is still a strong inquiry for all classes of store sheep with practically hone offering- Large number's of pigs are everywhere being dealt with'*’, and the market gen orally firm: '•
