WORST PASSED
HOPEFUL REPORTS OF WORLD
TRADE.
INCREASING EMPLOYMENT. (U.P.A. by Elec.- Tel.- Copyright) LONDON, May 19. The Daily Mail, in a leader, says:—
“Notwithstanding the unsettlement in consequence of the European crisis, the latest trade reports are distinctly hopeful. It is even declared that the worst of the slump has passed, provided peace is preserved, as it should be now that Germany has accepted the British plan.” The Daily Mail recalls the drop in the British unemployment figures, and says German unemployment also is down by 712,000, while America shows widespread recovery, all indicating greater grounds for hope.
