IMPROVED POSITION IN BRITAIN. BRIGHTEST OUTLOOK FOR LONG TIME. (liririsb Olfieiul Wirom-t'O RUGBY, May 19. Sir Henry Betterton informed the House of Commons that there were 91,000 more in employment than a month ago, and 92,009 more than a year ago.
Compared with January, the numbers in employment showed an increase of 249,000. That meant, said the Minister, that in the year under review, when the trade of the whole world had been paralysed by exchange restrictions, when there had been political disturbances and monetary crises in every country, the position in Britain was not only incomparably stronger than a year ago, but he thought that the outlook was more encouraging than for a very long time.
