PRICE OF PETROL
HEAVY FALL IN BRITAIN. SEQUEL TO OVER-PRODUCTION. (U P.A. by Elec. Ted. Copyright) (Received May 17, 7.35.p.m.) LONDON, May 17. The reduction in the price of petrol by 2£d per gallon is the result of over-production in the United States, combining with the fall in the dollar and failure of the laboriously contrived structure for price maintenance by the Anglo-Dutch, American and Rumanian producers, because America is unable to carry out her bargain. Oil shares on the Stock Exchange are weak.
