Much interest'is being taken in the appearance of Miss Doris Foote and R. Calder, W. Whareatu, A. Raper, J. L. Stotter, and W. F. Smith, who will appear, at-the Gisborne Swimming Club- carnival to-night.

In the face of threatening weather the benches at the Napier municipal baths were again packed to-night for the final programme of the national championships. The High light, the 500 yards inter-centre squadron, at times brought the public to their feet. Canterbury won by a margin of seven yards, in smin. 2 l-ssec., with Auckland and Hawke’-.s Bay next. Tile mens 440 yards championship was won comfortably by Lindsay by 20 yards, with Frankham 8 yards in front of Bullivant. Time, 5.21. Miss Webster was the sole starter in the 220 yards ladies breast-stroke, which was covered in the excellent time of' 3min. 33 2-ssec.

The benches were on their toes in the 50 yards invitation scratch. There wa’s good reason, as AA’. Whareatu (South Auckland), won a, whirlwind race by one and a-half yards from H. H. Byrnes (Canterbury) and F. Mo Convill (Canterbury). Time, 24 2-ssec slicing the record by three-fifths of a second. The polo championship was won by Canterbury, who beat Auckland by two goals .to ono, after a four-minute extension, Stokes scoring the winning goal. , Auckland won the A aldliurst Shield.
