With reference to the suggested restriction on butter imports into the United Kingdom. Mr. Forbes said the position bad been- further discussed with members of the Dairy Board, who again emphasised as strongly ns possible their definite view that any restriction of New Zealand butter would- have a disastrous effect on the dairying industry. The Board was of opinion that every endeavour should be made to avoid any policy oi fixed quotas applicable to the output from New Zealand. “The Government, having regard especially to the existing local conditions. strongly concur in the Board’s view,'' staled Mr. Forbes, "and the.
