In the men’s running events the fields were not so large as usual, aiid the mixed relay race tor the Jack Bradley miniatures was not run. The 880 yards Hat handicap also lapsed and will bo run later. Owing to tlio strong north-east wind, the times were rather slow, and this was particularly noticeable in the ladies race- In tho mile cycle E. \Y. Dev's scored a popular will, being aceoided prolonged*applause. The final of the 100 yards ladies’ race was so close that'tho judges had difficulty in selecting the winner.
