CALGARY, January 11.

The impounding of 250,000 pounds of New Zealand butter en route to Canada, and the prevention of further imports, was urged upon the executive at a meeting of the United Farmers of Alberta on Wednesday in a telegram from an unknown source. The executive declined to take action for the present. The Vice-President, Mr. Norman Priestly, said that the information Indicated that the butter shipment was due to reach the Pacific coast on January 27, and that an Alberta company had purchased a large quantity of it.
