SOCIAL NOTES. (Special To The Times). Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Nugent, jun., arrived home on Wednesday -after -a holiday spent in the Nelson district. Mrs. M.- J. Harris, of Te -Puke Hotel, spending*'a few days in Gisborne. OBITUARY. It is with regret that we record the death, at an. early age. of Miss Mary Pa lima, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Pahina, of /l’okomaru Bay.. The late Miss Pahina was. for some years, a junior teacher at thy Toko maru Bay Native school, but resigned recently owing to ill-health. News of her passing will come as a shock to her numerous friends. BOWLS (Special to the Times.) TOLAGA BAY, Jan. 12. The Tolaga Bay Bowlung Club’s tournament has been completed after many enjoyable games were’-witness-ed. Hurlstone won the senior trophy and Lincoln was successful in the junior competition.
