An inquest concerning tbe death of James Pringle Allen,. aged 32, wjio died from the effects of poisoning, while ho was being taken from Waitakere to Auckland. Hospital on Wednesday afternoon, was opened before the Coroner, Mr. Hunt, S.M. . Mr.. Goodall, father, of Florence Annie Goodall, aged 16, who was taken to hospital at the same time as deceased, gave evidenco of identification. He said that deceased had been in the Waitakerc . district for about ten months and 'was .employed at the returned soldiers’ relief caimp. Allen was living apart from his wife and had threo children. Witness was in the* motor car* in which Allen died on his way to the hospital. Following Mr. Goodall’s evidence, the inquiry was adjourned. A postmortem examination of deceased* has been authorised. < ! . . Miss iGpodall- and deceased were taken in a car to hospital after thoy had taken poisoned wind.
