ATHLETICS
OCG’S VISIT TO GISBORNE ' (To the Editor.) Sir,—lt is a matter for regret that “Old Timer” in commenting upon the appearance of W. B. Ogg at the New Year meeting of the G.A.A. and H.C. failed to make it quite clear that his criticism was aimed at th G local body arid not at the runner. From the way in which the paragraph was worded, it would tseem as if “Old Timer” had found Ogg’s performance most unsatisfactory. ]. am sura that many others beside myself arrived at the same, but apparently, "hasty conclusion. With regard to “Old Timer's” complaint about the bitter tone o f my I letter, I would remind him +' t it was penned in reply to what fhe appearance of an no jusip fieri k upon a visiting athlete. — ... on, Yours etc.. B. R. OGG.
