REGENT THEATRE
TO-NIGHT’S THE NIGHT’
When “To-night’s the Night", the Iphuv.ous British International Pictures, I/tdPg farce, commences at llegent Theatre to-day, all who see it must be prepared to laugh their way through about ,7000 feet of the merriest film that lias been presented for many a month. Leslie Fuller, who is rightly known as ‘"‘the rubber-faced comedian”, beads a splendid cast in “To-night’s the Night.” which is a burlesque ou life .in a prison. Fuller has never been seen to better advantage, and Iris antics, especially at the prison concert and in the prison workshops, set a new standard in comic acting. It is doubtful whether the scene An. which he appeal's as a woman liqs ever been rivalled. Easily the most enjoyable scenes are tiioso of prison life, treated as only a master-comedian could do. The situations lend themselves to burlesque, and 'the most -is made of tho opportunities which offer. A stern governor, a warder and a convict are all part and parcel of some devastatingly funny scene, There lire all the misunderstandings and complications are; satisfactorily ironed out. The supporting programme is predominatingly British, and includes a further delightful (instalment of tho Variety Pathe Magazine, showing Sonji Heina, world’s champioii lqdy skater, in action, Bonald Frankan in a high-class comedy itom, a demonstration of “Driving”, by Bobby Jones, Universal and Patlio Newsreels and “Wood Wasps”, a remarkable 'Secrets of Nature” film.
