Martin, and D. Armstrong should be contenders for the Hawke’s Bay provincial championship title. The first river race of the Olympic Club will take place to-morrow (Wednesday) at 5.30 p.m. over an approximate course of 220 yards, from the band rotunda to the Peel street bridge. This event is an inter-club fixture for the DeCosta Cup, the present holder of which is L Muir, and entries to allow for handicapping "will bo received up to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Competitors are requested to report to the E.S.A. for launch and dressing shed facilities ' not later than 5.20 p.m. on the day of the race
